<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
So this floral romper is <i><b>the</b></i> most comfortable piece of clothing I have ever made. True story! I used McCall's 6997, copyright 1994. Hard to believe that I was a junior in high school the year this pattern was published! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhifFXh-09dFbWYA_pGZLmtqG4m9a1X7Ykfto8Vvn8gdDrHf1nYcbz6QcQrMb80Pqv1NLFS9XMefcP-m7XH2-RG2OBL-NdNkK48WKwyWtpmQRhcrirwQFLRGWvifuOMwiLCqIgS4noVS7-s/s1600/FloralRomper-4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhifFXh-09dFbWYA_pGZLmtqG4m9a1X7Ykfto8Vvn8gdDrHf1nYcbz6QcQrMb80Pqv1NLFS9XMefcP-m7XH2-RG2OBL-NdNkK48WKwyWtpmQRhcrirwQFLRGWvifuOMwiLCqIgS4noVS7-s/s1600/FloralRomper-4.jpg" height="400" width="381" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I remember this particular style of roomy romper / jumper dress being popular during the 1990s, but I somehow missed ever owning one. I cut the size 10 and probably could have gone even smaller, but I actually dig the roominess.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhFQEVx1EBclLkEzCt6VhED1I04xGwoWPxeaEi-n1biYJw3P2wJfqdgB_JA_1L5bCyoNB4MKZ4d57_YBX55yHWh2PbHS5OCG8lf3WLk23pSfISeOtSOY0rmHJ4U-ljwn34ZLoCXZllro3vl/s1600/FloralRomper-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhFQEVx1EBclLkEzCt6VhED1I04xGwoWPxeaEi-n1biYJw3P2wJfqdgB_JA_1L5bCyoNB4MKZ4d57_YBX55yHWh2PbHS5OCG8lf3WLk23pSfISeOtSOY0rmHJ4U-ljwn34ZLoCXZllro3vl/s1600/FloralRomper-1.jpg" height="400" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Back view. This romper involved lots of gathering. From the back, you can really tell this is a romper, but I received several compliments on my "cute dress" when I wore it to work the other day, so it's almost imperceptible to the naked eye (and the business of the print probably helps). </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Side view. You can really see the fullness of the the romper here. </div>

<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here's a <a href="http://wanderlustfabrics.bigcartel.com/product/90-s-inspired-floral-rayon-challis">link</a> to the fabric I used! It's floral rayon challis from <a href="http://wanderlustfabrics.bigcartel.com/">Wanderlust Fabrics</a>. I'm so delighted with this fabric! It was so easy to work with and the drape is absolutely dreamy! From the very first moment I saw it, I knew that it would be the perfect fabric to use for my retro 1990s romper. In fact, it's described by Wanderlust Fabrics as "90s Inspired."</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Close-up of a few details: Gathers and the self-fabric covered buttons. It's hard to even see the buttons due to the extreme business of the print!</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
This romper was super-easy to put together. Between the cost of the fabric, pattern (found at a Habitat for Humanity ReStore for only .25 cents!) and covered buttons, it only set me back about $20.00....SCORE!</div>

I have a couple projects currently in the works! First of all, I scored an amazing 1970s pantsuit at the Goodwill in Black Mountain, NC that I want to alter into something more wearable. Here it is in all of its tacky floral polyester glory! I'm keeping the pants as is; all they need is to be taken in at the elastic waistline. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I'm definitely going to reconstruct the butterfly collar shirt and mix it with a solid colored stretch knit fabric. I'm thinking about using the <a href="http://megannielsen.com/products/briar-sweater-and-tshirt-sewing-pattern">Briar</a> pattern as a template. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
And here's a preview of my latest make. All I have left is the bottom hem! I used an incredible rayon from Wanderlust Fabrics. The pattern is from 1994 and I thought the floral print was very reminiscent of the 1990s, especially when it comes to baby doll jumpers, which is the view I'm making. </div>

<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Surprisingly, I've managed to complete a decent number (for me, anyway!) of projects so far this summer. Sewing isn't really the issue so much as finding the time to model and photograph everything for the blog. So I've decided to do an all-encompassing round-up! </div>
<div style="text-align: start;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
First up is <a href="http://mccallpattern.mccall.com/m6965-products-48444.php?page_id=528">McCall's 6965</a>. Let me tell you, this retro flared shorts pattern is a definite winner! I love it <i>so much</i>! They are a ridiculously quick and easy make. I used a red linen look fabric which really helps with defining the "flare" of the cut. </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
Admittedly, this kind of looks like a high school cheerleading skirt on, but I still dig it! Next time I will make them in a draper fabric like rayon. </div>

<br />
Next up: <a href="http://www.shopwiksten.com/product/tank-top-sewing-pattern-downloadable-pdf">The Wiksten Tank</a>. Another ridiculously quick and easy summer project! I salvaged the fabric (cotton/poly blend) from two vintage pillow cases that I thrifted for a mere .50 cents. SCORE!<br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
A lot of my summer projects have been basic wardrobe builders. This is the Colette <a href="https://www.colettepatterns.com/sewing/mabel">Mabel Skirt</a>, whipped up in a mere 2 hours using black ponte knit fabric. Flattering + figure-hugging pencil cut + no closures + low yardage = highly recommended project!</div>

<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
This was my most time-intensive project of the bunch: The now-iconic-within-the-home-sewing-community <a href="http://www.store.closetcasefiles.com/patterns/bombshell-swimsuit">Bombshell Swimsuit</a>. This swimsuit is nothing short of amazing....A true miracle....A marvel of retro feminine engineering. I feel so incredibly sexy and confident while wearing it and I will most definitely make another next summer!</div>

Here's the final line-up (from left to right): Colette Mabel Skirt, Wiksten Tank, Katy and Laney Tap Shorts (previously blogged with lots of photos <a href="http://missdandy77.blogspot.com/2014/07/completed-project-katy-laney-tap-shorts.html">HERE)</a>, Bombshell Swimsuit and McCall's 6965 Flared Shorts!</div>

I just nabbed a lot of 35 McCall's, Simplicity, Butterick and Vogue mini catalogs / pamphlets on eBay, all from my favorite decade - the 1970s! I just love these little pieces of vintage sewing ephemera and, since this particular decade seems to be more reviled than revered for its fashion legacy, it appears that I might be able to continue amassing a collection that won't break the bank (I got all 35 for only $5.00!). </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Are there any fellow 1970s fashion enthusiasts out there? If so, then this is for you! I've scanned the "Carefree Pattern From McCall's" issue from April 1973 for you to feast your eyes upon! This seems to be a special cute couples-themed issue and, unlike most of these free mini catalogs, this particular issue contains no text of write ups about the fashions.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
TA-DAAAAH! So it would appear that I am sewing and blogging again after a one year+ absence! I was lucky enough to nab a job almost one year ago sewing cushions and upholstery for one of the few locally owned, strictly made-in-the-U.S.A. furniture companies left in my part of the country. Business has been good so I've been extremely busy. I also have a rambunctious 4-year-old son, which absorbs a lot of my sewing time. The plant was closed for the week of the 4th, so I took a minor "sewcation" and actually had a chance to make a few things for myself. </div>

I'm in dire need of shorts, so my first recorded make after one year: the <a href="http://katyandlaney.com/product/tap-shorts-pattern/">Katy and Laney Tap Shorts</a>! These were incredibly quick and easy to construct. I opted to make view A which features diagonal seams at the front. No pockets, just a faced waistband, back darts and invisible side-seam zipper. There are thorough instructions for back welt pockets, but I just wanted to be able to sew something quickly in my limited free time so I nixed those.</div>

I used a vintage lightweight pinwale corduroy from my deep within my stash (and when I mean deep, I mean that this particular yardage has been in my stash for well over ten - yes, <u><b>TEN</b></u> - years! I thrifted it from a Habitat for Humanity ReStore and could never find the right project for it, mainly because it was only a one yard piece. View A of the Katy & Laney Tap Shorts only requires one yard of fabric so I finally found the perfect project !</div>

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjernP3gMlZv7KYKuth6vYbe2VKVBGFuK3xGoyy_ikn_M-_AqcNz5a-pI6wMaCK2HLqqhhuEntqG9xXNMlmj6ib9ugql9nVofSKBHMyra9ihTZuklEtoY7bwuZMnhePMtO0XoMWx61SM8Vq/s1600/ScoutTee-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjernP3gMlZv7KYKuth6vYbe2VKVBGFuK3xGoyy_ikn_M-_AqcNz5a-pI6wMaCK2HLqqhhuEntqG9xXNMlmj6ib9ugql9nVofSKBHMyra9ihTZuklEtoY7bwuZMnhePMtO0XoMWx61SM8Vq/s400/ScoutTee-1.jpg" width="313" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
I have nothing but enthusiastic RAVES for the <a href="http://shop.grainlinestudio.com/product/scout-woven-tee">Grainline Scout Woven Tee</a>! It's a fairly simple to make, super-flattering and an easy-to-wear design. And well-worth shelling out $6.50 for! For the front of the tee I used reclaimed fabric from a vintage 1970s floral print scarf. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Yes - quell horreur! - I plead guilty to cutting up a perfectly fine and wearable vintage scarf, but it was put to good use, right? And I have a confession - I have tons more of these oversized vintage scarfs in my stash just like this that I've stored up from my various thrifting adventures. I find that, at $.50 cents to $2.00 each, they are an affordable fabric option for small projects like this and usually offer nice pops of color or unique design that's usually hard to find in modern fabric. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Since I only had a small amount of scarf fabric for the front I opted for a matching rust-colored rayon challis for the back and the sleeves. I found this fabric at a thrift store as well. This tee is extremely comfy to wear I really love the swingy fit! Although the floral scarf fabric is slightly sheer, I opted not to line it because I have a feeling this summer is going to be a hot one and I plan to wear this often!</div>

<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br />
This reconstructed t-shirt is definitely an in-joke amongst myself and a few of my friends. I'm notoriously not a fan of the once-ubiquitous Tom Hanks, which my friend Scott insists is positively un-American. So he made me this t-shirt to wear as a joke to he and his wife Cate's annual Academy Awards party in late February. I believe the photo of Tom Hanks used here is from an episode of <i>Saturday Night Live </i>that he hosted in the late 1980s.<br />

The original t-shirt was an oversized Hanes men's shirt so I decided to take it apart and reconstruct it into something a little more wearable. This is the pattern I used: Simplicity 9165 from 1989.</div>

I cut a size 10 and I usually wear a size 12. Although the original design is cropped, the shirt is extremely cropped on me and (as pictured here) will require the use of a camisole of tank top underneath. Not sure how often I'll wear it as I consider it to be pro-Tom Hanks propaganda and - well - I'm just not cool with that! ;-)</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br />
My first post in about 3 months! I hope to be able to do more of these "look of the day" posts. You see, I work as a cook during the day and I kind of live for shedding my kitchen scrubs and dressing up every afternoon when I arrive home. Plus, I suppose this will be the last time I will be able to wear a plaid wool skirt and grey over-the-knee socks and get away with it before the slight winter chill is gone and Spring is here for good.<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcL5tNJOafQklXRvp7oMrQb7Zeo3WlFeQmoeP8YF2EytgjCmQoAet9XmsbLpk992U2VHG7FiERByQf-PNjeBwj8jWibYp_RYs4r6aEwOvYBQcMWKwKSzTfh3z9e6nQsVjaHavO_SCC0ko_/s1600/TeAmo.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="288" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcL5tNJOafQklXRvp7oMrQb7Zeo3WlFeQmoeP8YF2EytgjCmQoAet9XmsbLpk992U2VHG7FiERByQf-PNjeBwj8jWibYp_RYs4r6aEwOvYBQcMWKwKSzTfh3z9e6nQsVjaHavO_SCC0ko_/s320/TeAmo.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
None of my look is handmade, but the bias plaid skirt is definitely vintage 1970s. Scored with an entire armful of similar skirts all at once during a lucky pitstop at the Goodwill in Black Mountain, NC last fall (and they all fit, too)! The awesome "Te Amo" Han and Leia shirt was definitely love at first sight and is from <a href="http://www.welovefine.com/4609-i-love-you.html">We Love Fine</a> which has nerdy t-shirts at decent prices and awesomesauce customer service too! The skinny belt is from Banana Republic from, like, 13 years ago. The combat boots by Espirit are just about as old. You see, when you're poor you tend to make your things last....</div>

<i>Cabaret</i> - 1972 - Directed by Bob Fosse. My favorite movie musical because it has such style, because it exudes a seedy, sinister, and decadent vibe and because the characters don't just break out into song and interrupt the flow of the story (all of the musical numbers are performed in the Kit Kat Klub). As a teenager, I had a minor obsession with Joel Grey as the Emcee and with Liza Minnelli's eyelashes. Here a few favorite stills that I've screen captured:</div>

And on a minor sewing side note, I've managed to finish <a href="http://voguepatterns.mccall.com/v8837-products-27112.php">Vogue 8837</a> and I'm rather happy with the outcome. The most difficult part for me is finding the time to take photos of my projects. Hopefully I'll be able to snap a few tomorrow. Next up is this <a href="http://www.burdastyle.com/pattern_store/patterns/102010-tie-front-blouse">BurdaStyle tie-front blouse</a>!</div>

Okay. So I'm ready to stop neglecting this blog. <i>Really and truly</i>. Ready. Here are a few visuals of the sewing projects that I've queued up:</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I've fallen in love with these 1970s <i>Annie Hall</i> style high-waist, wide-leg pants. Head-over-heels in love! It's Vogue 8836. Very difficult to tell from the scan, but I'll be using this heathered blue and brown woven suiting fabric to bring these to life (view B).</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The Colette "Beignet" Skirt from this amazing vintage 1970s leaf and mushroom print twill fabric that I've had in my stash for, like, 10 years (!) now...'cause it's so awesome and I've been saving it for something special. I know I'm probably the last seamstress on earth to tackle this, but better late than never!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMuVfjqQ1Fhxr7IadQGrEJ4bMcdSb-owfMtbkh45L9qMjylSP_A84tgl2rJBdY8FOkpDI5cDgqJvTZqaaSwcRDmK0ukAjQwsYCp5DeBKYUNBZzesncl4T4b9Hk0M9MVXcf1TM8-VxNTdfO/s1600/FutureSewing-4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="254" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMuVfjqQ1Fhxr7IadQGrEJ4bMcdSb-owfMtbkh45L9qMjylSP_A84tgl2rJBdY8FOkpDI5cDgqJvTZqaaSwcRDmK0ukAjQwsYCp5DeBKYUNBZzesncl4T4b9Hk0M9MVXcf1TM8-VxNTdfO/s320/FutureSewing-4.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I love the late 1950s Brigitte Bardot look of these high-waist, skinny leg knit pants. Designed by Katherine Tilton for Vogue (V8837). These have interesting seaming details that aren't even captured in the photo from the pattern envelope. To be made using a heathered brown interlock knit. </div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Another Colette Patterns Skirt - "Ginger." Simple A-line design that will work well for this crazy busy 1980s splatter print twill fabric!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Tie-front blouse from the October 2010 issue of <i>Burda Style</i> Magazine (although I downloaded the pattern from their website). I'll be using this slightly retro floral and vine print purple-hued cotton fabric !</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I'm really looking forward to getting back into the sewing groove. Now, off to decide which of these projects to tackle first.....</div>
Miss Dandyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13977302648973118805noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-756631667936696460.post-24737438569542069912012-08-10T21:21:00.003-05:002012-08-10T21:26:02.358-05:00Projects in Progress<div style="text-align: center;">
So the most prominent project in progress at the moment is a special quilt that I'm making for two of my dearest friends who are getting married in mid-October! While I have the ability to do the piecing and quilt binding my faithful, but simple, Singer sewing machine won't quite do the trick for the actual quilting. So I have until the end of August to finish the piecing, then I'm sending it off to an "expert" for the heavy-duty work. I want to keep this a secret, so I can't show photos just yet!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
In addition to the wedding in October, I'm also attending a wedding with my boyfriend in September, and I'm desperately in need of a cute and chic dress to wear to both of these! This is where <a href="http://www.colettepatterns.com/shop/chantilly/">Chantilly</a> from Colette patterns comes to the rescue! I'm kind of late to the Colette patterns party. And when I mean late, I mean mega-late......this will be my first time sewing a Colette pattern!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

Since the design has a light and airy Spring/Summer feel to it, I will be using this lovely, autumn-hued crinkled chiffon which will be lined with a fabric that exactly matches the splashes of green in the print:</div>

It's been a long while since I've sewn a dress for myself, so I'm really looking forward to this! In addition to the Chantilly dress, I have started to plan my fall sewing projects. I recently went on a bit of a pattern-buying binge, including the <a href="http://shop.grainlinestudio.com/product/scout-woven-tee">Scout Woven Tee</a>, <a href="http://www.colettepatterns.com/shop/violet">Violet</a>, <a href="http://www.colettepatterns.com/shop/ginger">Ginger</a> and <a href="http://www.colettepatterns.com/shop/beignet">Beignet</a> from Colette patterns and the <a href="http://www.etsy.com/listing/97089672/ohhh-lulu-the-betty-high-waist-panties">Betty High Waist Panties</a> from Ohhh Lulu. I have so much fabric in my stash that planning has actually been super-easy! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Lastly, I also discovered a fantastic blog today - <a href="http://clothesonfilm.com/">Clothes On Film</a> - where the aim is to "examine costume and identity in movies." Of recent note, there is an article about the costumes in <i><a href="http://clothesonfilm.com/a-cat-of-a-certain-breed-audrey-hepburn-in-breakfast-at-tiffanys/27508/">Breakfast at Tiffany's</a> </i>and another about <a href="http://clothesonfilm.com/anna-karenina-coming-to-banana-republic-costume-fashion/26686/">a new adaptation of<i> Anna Karenina</i></a> and a possible collaboration between the costume designer Jacqueline Durran and Banana Republic. <i> </i> </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br />
<br />
I have a confession to make: I rarely have time to sew for myself, let alone for anyone else, so sewing things for other people usually falls very, very low on my list of priorities. However, a couple weeks ago I found several amazing scraps of vintage 1980s Rainbow Brite fabric panels at a thrift store in Black Mountain for a mere .25 cents and my niece Ella's 3rd birthday is July 3rd, so the time finally presented itself for me to make her a dress! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I used <a href="http://mccallpattern.mccall.com/m6387-products-14650.php?page_id=487">McCall's 6387</a>, mainly because I was charmed by the little detachable "Heidi Style" apron. Ironically, even though I purchased fabric for the apron, I ultimately decided not to construct it since it was going to partially obscure Rainbow Brite and her horse Starlite which is the main focal point of the dress.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUeInuud6kic7ArtEORR_hchsZzrFVE6vOD2qV_WpwTCJPFf_wqFaVdhlbt2KnoYtJJpyKZJxo8is1EWMPFr4ktSZRrlkrPAWN10n3f7A8zTQN6nrTcG87-ZrynSCX66lpkqqRUF_Gdu2A/s1600/RainbowBriteDress-2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="230" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUeInuud6kic7ArtEORR_hchsZzrFVE6vOD2qV_WpwTCJPFf_wqFaVdhlbt2KnoYtJJpyKZJxo8is1EWMPFr4ktSZRrlkrPAWN10n3f7A8zTQN6nrTcG87-ZrynSCX66lpkqqRUF_Gdu2A/s320/RainbowBriteDress-2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The skirt of is made from rainbow multi-striped cotton quilting fabric which I lined with white cotton. For the lower fabric ruffle, straps and bodice lining, I used an orange and pink toned batik.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
From start to finish, I was able to construct the dress in about 4 hours. It's a very simple design, but all of those gathers take an eternity! Even though Ella has no idea who Rainbow Brite is, I think she will love the colors, ruffle and gathers. Her parents, both children of the 1980s (like myself), will probably appreciate the nostalgic elements of it!</div>

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2bRxN-naYkKSN9kN1-ppWFXShWO7pFEg4KaTzPkOBV3ZhhaHaKLPC_D9A-VO9engi7uazK6AVyFC-qAyi_KT7ild-yMrM3lWfu4JKGtEM0gArnOsDDS_otspJawaFWSAoHR1MIHD_3uQG/s1600/BoneyM-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="157" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2bRxN-naYkKSN9kN1-ppWFXShWO7pFEg4KaTzPkOBV3ZhhaHaKLPC_D9A-VO9engi7uazK6AVyFC-qAyi_KT7ild-yMrM3lWfu4JKGtEM0gArnOsDDS_otspJawaFWSAoHR1MIHD_3uQG/s320/BoneyM-1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: x-small;">The original 1966 picture sleeve single of The Creation's "Painter Man" next to the Atlantic 45 label from Boney M.'s unusually rocking disco 1979 cover of the same song.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I have been a fan of 1960s music group The Creation ever since their song "Makin' Time" was featured prominently in Wes Anderson's 1998 film <i>Rushmore</i>. They are one of the many "lost" and overlooked bands that emerged during the Beatles-influenced music explosion of the mid-1960s and are most notable for Eddie Phillips playing his guitar with a violin bow (years before Jimmy Page gave it a whirl). </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I have a weakness for 1960s Mod-era British music and an extreme fondness for late 1970s disco-era music. So when I discovered 1970s European disco group Boney M. while searching for 1970s line dance clips from <i>Soul Train </i>on You Tube, I was seriously intrigued. This is the first video I watched, an amazing (though lip-synced) performance of "Rasputin." It must be watched to be believed:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="360" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/_oMq8XmpOEs" width="480"></iframe>
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhFiP1KzVQVTqInYUBUr3KC9YPSI-qshX-lVBHO-y1YNFvf8oBhVG9Uk5rFHDsje5S8RRbxkyWuwxdA5KWcd5T1KEjkPIPEfalvHE1JI05DGUSe7mrept52mwrq_Wkp535VFFLScIOnvqoE/s1600/BoneyM-2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="234" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhFiP1KzVQVTqInYUBUr3KC9YPSI-qshX-lVBHO-y1YNFvf8oBhVG9Uk5rFHDsje5S8RRbxkyWuwxdA5KWcd5T1KEjkPIPEfalvHE1JI05DGUSe7mrept52mwrq_Wkp535VFFLScIOnvqoE/s320/BoneyM-2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: x-small;"> The futuristic space age-meets disco-meets new wave look of Boney M., circa 1979.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: x-small;"><br /></span><br />
From "Rasputin" I quickly went to Spotify to find anything that I could by Boney M. and there I discovered their 1979 album <i>Night Flight to Venus</i>, an insanely fun disco trip into outer space and beyond. And when I saw that the third track on the album was a cover of The Creation's "Painter Man" and that it's actually a tasteful and surprisingly kick-ass cover....I had it on rotation all day long.<br />
<br />
<br />
<iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="360" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/2BhIwytZWbg" width="480"></iframe>
<br />
<br />
<br />
So it is here, in Boney M.'s cover of "Painter Man" that the brief, strange and wonderful intersection of 1960s Mod culture and 1970s disco culture takes place! Unusual since Boney M. was probably the epitome of manufactured disco groups of the 1970s, and ironic since The Creation was one of the most original and provocative forgotten music groups of the 1960s.<br />
<br />

So far, this 30 minute documentary is 3 episodes in and is streaming for free<a href="http://www.hulu.com/the-fashion-fund"> here</a> at <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">Hulu</span>! It follows the 10 finalists of the 2011 <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">CFDA</span> / Vogue fashion fund through panel interviews, fashion shows and lots more on their quest to win $300,000 towards their business and a <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">mentorship</span>. This program is a change of pace from the sometimes gimmicky weekly challenges of Project Runway (which I still love, by the way). <i>The Fashion Fund</i> is a highly recommended 30 minute weekly fashion fix!Miss Dandyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13977302648973118805noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-756631667936696460.post-57731005429125997182012-02-08T19:36:00.007-06:002012-02-08T20:00:49.396-06:00My Latest Etsy Finds & Wants<div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Here's a peek at some of my favorite <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">Etsy</span> finds & wants!</div><div style="text-align: center;"> </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7fYwNjc6DLpq9fx9t_A9HuI6kgQWAJz0ubeKuCusHvEE4CSbElkpAH1QtKhZW2uSje_d758G6vL2Qd7_yLBCmmymh7bQ3YxfaBodcNW4yRXmcqc6IkQvMZ6nHXTLe26hMbfHlZDIK8NZT/s1600/EtsyWants-5.jpg" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 267px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7fYwNjc6DLpq9fx9t_A9HuI6kgQWAJz0ubeKuCusHvEE4CSbElkpAH1QtKhZW2uSje_d758G6vL2Qd7_yLBCmmymh7bQ3YxfaBodcNW4yRXmcqc6IkQvMZ6nHXTLe26hMbfHlZDIK8NZT/s400/EtsyWants-5.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5706946223696098370" /></a><div style="text-align: center;">Just in time for Spring! I found that all of the pants and trousers that I'd put so much time into making no longer fit, which left me without a few essential wardrobe basics. So now, along with looking for thrifted vintage pieces, I'm trying to sew and build up my wardrobe again (with a 1970s slant, of course)! I used Butterick #3846 (a "Young Designer" pattern by Betsey Johnson) to make this pair of simple high waist pants: </div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEimGreyVlCR3WNrC7J5ZlGeqA2i910ZYqxaskJIzLGP94OuhRmS8pdSQEADNbCnPegCxWC3S6x2X6AYkgQxFEBj-IDLCZxSZPd55r7c51vB9cpdwFs3Zh0a6OI06wXZZDT8zxV0zsGxmOJY/s1600/HighWaistPants-1.jpg" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 272px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEimGreyVlCR3WNrC7J5ZlGeqA2i910ZYqxaskJIzLGP94OuhRmS8pdSQEADNbCnPegCxWC3S6x2X6AYkgQxFEBj-IDLCZxSZPd55r7c51vB9cpdwFs3Zh0a6OI06wXZZDT8zxV0zsGxmOJY/s400/HighWaistPants-1.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5702046133977198914" /></a><br /><div>Do forgive the dark and pixelated photos! I thought the extreme high waist fit and wide legs made enough of a statement. The original pattern design included huge patch pockets over the hips, round applique patches at the knees and a detachable bib. </div><div><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOeIKdWkDdbQVjAI0PPZfj3NMzA72_0RGJ0pC0w8ElmcxFqZSjVPm62-4p6bPgAEu49DVPsBvMJy2KAaSqzBcFR9VLIQDM_MbV34aAuxtwtsRXz8Y8bFoVLRRL6J8RhZHSPyOlsJJsOdyw/s1600/HighWaistPants-4.jpg" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 213px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOeIKdWkDdbQVjAI0PPZfj3NMzA72_0RGJ0pC0w8ElmcxFqZSjVPm62-4p6bPgAEu49DVPsBvMJy2KAaSqzBcFR9VLIQDM_MbV34aAuxtwtsRXz8Y8bFoVLRRL6J8RhZHSPyOlsJJsOdyw/s400/HighWaistPants-4.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5702046113166782610" /></a><br /></div><div>I wore these out to lunch today and received a few nice compliments. The fabric that I used is a lightly slubbed medium weight denim-look cotton that I purchased with a huge lot of patterns at a local sale. I thought this type of fabric would be perfect for the transition from winter to spring - not too heavy or too light. The pants have a front zipper, wider than usual waistband and button closure. </div><div><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEij7DNkzs_Nwfw7Z4DPbqrKTfroT4Gd1-E8lATbB7Lu7lPtPfXMsNlWZSVUu5wQcxM96WJgJEq2hsrNGa4ZOe3lYWrH5YhfbB1gnuhZ2j1Lt2MHKOg_ehFt7FEOOTmyq7H4jqCkUDoHkPZF/s1600/HighWaistPants-5.jpg" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 285px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEij7DNkzs_Nwfw7Z4DPbqrKTfroT4Gd1-E8lATbB7Lu7lPtPfXMsNlWZSVUu5wQcxM96WJgJEq2hsrNGa4ZOe3lYWrH5YhfbB1gnuhZ2j1Lt2MHKOg_ehFt7FEOOTmyq7H4jqCkUDoHkPZF/s400/HighWaistPants-5.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5702046098422836402" /></a></div><div><br /></div><div>I will definitely be wearing these often and I'm so glad to have a basic pair of high waist pants in my wardrobe again!</div><div><br /></div><div>TOTAL PROJECT COST:</div><div>Fabric - approximately $1.00 </div><div>Zipper - approximately $2.00 </div><div>Pattern - $6.49 from <a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop/grannigertsattic">Granni Gert's Attic</a> @ Etsy</div><div>____________</div><div>$9.49</div>Miss Dandyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13977302648973118805noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-756631667936696460.post-30676234560694395842012-01-11T14:53:00.003-06:002012-01-11T15:07:04.047-06:00Sewing....How I've Missed You!<div>I can't believe this, but it's been almost 10 months since I've posted anything here on my sewing blog. Without going into specific details, let's just say that I've been going though a major life change and I'm now a single mom working full-time. It's been extremely difficult and sewing (sadly) hasn't been a major part of my life recently. I feel like I've missed out on so many possible sewing projects and not being able to sew as much as I used to has been like suffering a huge loss....like I've had a creative hole in my life for the past 10 months.<div><br /></div><div>Things are looking up, though! I have a new project in the works and my goal is to start sewing and posting here regularly again. Here's the pattern I'll be using, an amazing Betsey Johnson of Alley Cat pattern, circa 1974:</div></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1YKCqxDT30pwigWY6dH4jSsyL-BIzdsv54PGpnxMbokW17epX6d37JSdXONyGTLd5NJT_BqFGOMrLRKf9Y8XDMATRKj95c-DSyyK3kZbz5IoovhelV6Vl9-j6MKFdYxXIecB1MCyr5e0t/s1600/B3846-1.jpg" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 266px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1YKCqxDT30pwigWY6dH4jSsyL-BIzdsv54PGpnxMbokW17epX6d37JSdXONyGTLd5NJT_BqFGOMrLRKf9Y8XDMATRKj95c-DSyyK3kZbz5IoovhelV6Vl9-j6MKFdYxXIecB1MCyr5e0t/s400/B3846-1.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5696482791853360002" /></a><div><br /></div><div>I'll be making the high waist pants, without the detachable bib, from a nice lightweight dark denim chambray, perfect for the transition from winter to spring. The total time spent cutting out and constructing was a little over 2 hours....because I didn't have to construct or hem the skirt! </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">I used an early 1980s pattern for the bodice, which is made from black ponte knit (the best knit fabric in the whole wide world to work with, by the way!). It has puff petal sleeves and I added a white embroidered floral collar to brighten up the bodice. The skirt is actually an upcycled vintage 1980s rayon skirt that I thrifted a while back. I love the crazy squiggly waves print and the bright primary colors! Altogether, a quite satisfying project for a very time-strapped person like myself!</div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPUkBRSF1L5-WoSanEnil2reMU9L-uOd9hTzDBiGdHMVfKGCHBAA3oU3yAaDT8WI0zd7JCq-TXp6Hl1Bk1uz-8XnM2lH3-6uUcAHyZ6dQmCqxobS74TiArA-5b46b2mksc4DUVOD2XyKsT/s1600/WavesDress-1.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 364px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPUkBRSF1L5-WoSanEnil2reMU9L-uOd9hTzDBiGdHMVfKGCHBAA3oU3yAaDT8WI0zd7JCq-TXp6Hl1Bk1uz-8XnM2lH3-6uUcAHyZ6dQmCqxobS74TiArA-5b46b2mksc4DUVOD2XyKsT/s400/WavesDress-1.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5587454571656203362" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhEb6uOmm1twdtSgyvSUEVP7VjmUsSehgke9acwixFzZ1EgT9ri40lHuwHPx-UOLqJGK35IVVKOhMRgYSSk1eOfw6hmL5Y3Skbu4kmEA_X5H_btl_FIPUO2luUrVp8fTmfJk4mUEuAnamIl/s1600/WavesDress-3.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 376px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhEb6uOmm1twdtSgyvSUEVP7VjmUsSehgke9acwixFzZ1EgT9ri40lHuwHPx-UOLqJGK35IVVKOhMRgYSSk1eOfw6hmL5Y3Skbu4kmEA_X5H_btl_FIPUO2luUrVp8fTmfJk4mUEuAnamIl/s400/WavesDress-3.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5587454568695107714" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjm4YmTs3r1sW03J06TNV55Ud6Jj1fVEdzHT1O9ce7Kq6pwxAJNPnB6-jlB3K6VYnkqsXZuy2GwGj9FfpM1VDfwqA2b30U2IkaZhBgh9WObYMol0-M-W8QlwTjjsmtFfvrchBXdg-p0I_CF/s1600/WavesDress-6.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 363px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjm4YmTs3r1sW03J06TNV55Ud6Jj1fVEdzHT1O9ce7Kq6pwxAJNPnB6-jlB3K6VYnkqsXZuy2GwGj9FfpM1VDfwqA2b30U2IkaZhBgh9WObYMol0-M-W8QlwTjjsmtFfvrchBXdg-p0I_CF/s400/WavesDress-6.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5587454562635333858" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwii5HAC7vOUZuQeCRa6RE8O6O2Nl8MQ0amiB1WnVyfbILTOid4DRXus3A0-hhYP8xyox4syHRHMGm_OXFlI_biovsid_HuCPiipRHAkiY94Zf7JloJf577OO9AQyFwVuvEVZAOGeGDGpj/s1600/WavesDress-10.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 291px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwii5HAC7vOUZuQeCRa6RE8O6O2Nl8MQ0amiB1WnVyfbILTOid4DRXus3A0-hhYP8xyox4syHRHMGm_OXFlI_biovsid_HuCPiipRHAkiY94Zf7JloJf577OO9AQyFwVuvEVZAOGeGDGpj/s400/WavesDress-10.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5587454561501332258" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFqxAqgr1R8MtxCzirl56iCh_6e9ZkyObd30D-OIeMAme2l7_YvJ6SOtwX8ZFn6kdmcOtZeOY_P4OCkyNEFpUSRlEzL4Nx_0HacbvbOZLr39rYUNt_SvleHReyTtcpqBF-MBzG_wW4WJv6/s1600/WavesDress-12.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 335px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFqxAqgr1R8MtxCzirl56iCh_6e9ZkyObd30D-OIeMAme2l7_YvJ6SOtwX8ZFn6kdmcOtZeOY_P4OCkyNEFpUSRlEzL4Nx_0HacbvbOZLr39rYUNt_SvleHReyTtcpqBF-MBzG_wW4WJv6/s400/WavesDress-12.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5587454553717545474" /></a>Miss Dandyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13977302648973118805noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-756631667936696460.post-2352652323409687242011-02-10T19:08:00.005-06:002011-02-10T19:31:09.258-06:00Completed Project: 1970s Wide Leg Trousers<div><br /></div><div><div style="text-align: center; ">So I've finally resigned myself to the fact that I will probably only be updating this blog whenever I complete sewing projects which, at my current sewing rate, will be about 1x per week. I'm just in love with posting on my <a href="http://missdandy.tumblr.com/"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">Tumblr</span> blog</a>, which I actually do daily, so check me out over there if you'd like!</div><div style="text-align: center; "><br /></div><div style="text-align: center; ">My latest completed project is a pair of wide leg trousers that I made from an early 1970s <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">Butterick</span> pattern designed by Betsey Johnson. I think the design was actually inspired by 1940s-style trousers but with a much more exaggerated silhouette for <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">stylin</span>' 1970s seamstresses. :) These were really simple to make: several <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3">top stitched</span> pleats at the front, a 7" zipper at the back, and a wide waistband with a button closure. I used a <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4">slubbed</span> black and white rayon/linen blend fabric that I scored from a local thrift store for $4.00.</div></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgU6P2tCrZ-Nex-mfoaSIOBL_z9pfNyEjoYALwqcypZUb769EqAsxl68o1Id8A2wFtWDDUbbxOY2ebapMRY3SDrOXbutdjm3toVPwSv5eaUl7nH9Ex8RL1xRJkT1F8yQzABu0AzWwBzRdja/s1600/2+copy2.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 399px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgU6P2tCrZ-Nex-mfoaSIOBL_z9pfNyEjoYALwqcypZUb769EqAsxl68o1Id8A2wFtWDDUbbxOY2ebapMRY3SDrOXbutdjm3toVPwSv5eaUl7nH9Ex8RL1xRJkT1F8yQzABu0AzWwBzRdja/s400/2+copy2.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5572236395317321346" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCSkMSM2aH4lbP2ZwZ5kYMeU1gav25TtKkkkBOAfYMR01zofOG6Mh2LEpRViAX30LDnRJIMwrVKM4qlkyh33ZdYIy4FknksRx1EyijYSXpPNBz673YvGrxiwHjYQg6w9lYMfhDRpa4rqxp/s1600/WideLegPants-4.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 282px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCSkMSM2aH4lbP2ZwZ5kYMeU1gav25TtKkkkBOAfYMR01zofOG6Mh2LEpRViAX30LDnRJIMwrVKM4qlkyh33ZdYIy4FknksRx1EyijYSXpPNBz673YvGrxiwHjYQg6w9lYMfhDRpa4rqxp/s400/WideLegPants-4.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5572236390316085698" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZqEVFeUK-RaBC4uAB0DfVzt1y4XlqRm7zvv9H4nOq2D-cvQPmz8HL8IHsO1pJhnRT-L2CpRUk7qYsRTmlc3ZpEonJQB3QrEBvpvPIBFKHCrIRf_lnbq4p3c_2WlDenF-If73cM73VlFPL/s1600/WideLegPants-9.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 274px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZqEVFeUK-RaBC4uAB0DfVzt1y4XlqRm7zvv9H4nOq2D-cvQPmz8HL8IHsO1pJhnRT-L2CpRUk7qYsRTmlc3ZpEonJQB3QrEBvpvPIBFKHCrIRf_lnbq4p3c_2WlDenF-If73cM73VlFPL/s400/WideLegPants-9.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5572236384063323474" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMLxvk6CbzJbq5azfhzcha3SsfnWfl2bHcrr7XJKYblOR5jdAAXMPruCmxumhsYcNjX11IYrulneRK_qpj7jlhzkak0rALK65oiF8GjhZI9b_lzJBN7fAFUnxDEUeVgccdNFVyT12c7eNq/s1600/WideLegPants-10.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 266px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMLxvk6CbzJbq5azfhzcha3SsfnWfl2bHcrr7XJKYblOR5jdAAXMPruCmxumhsYcNjX11IYrulneRK_qpj7jlhzkak0rALK65oiF8GjhZI9b_lzJBN7fAFUnxDEUeVgccdNFVyT12c7eNq/s400/WideLegPants-10.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5572236378623979010" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3YQMwnlCVCKza6xxcAdnLxRfCj2k6COAC3-V-XieAZ-PiHmdaXUbRNUQiQf5bhgfO4PslsA_ychLb5jObIIRP9UYZDav4yRHYRkkq002YbzpBb4QKz3oEZY4NYZtMIXZ1BrZSmgQRA24q/s1600/tumblr_lg69meFg221qzfoz1o1_1280.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 261px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3YQMwnlCVCKza6xxcAdnLxRfCj2k6COAC3-V-XieAZ-PiHmdaXUbRNUQiQf5bhgfO4PslsA_ychLb5jObIIRP9UYZDav4yRHYRkkq002YbzpBb4QKz3oEZY4NYZtMIXZ1BrZSmgQRA24q/s400/tumblr_lg69meFg221qzfoz1o1_1280.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5572236374513523458" /></a><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">I'm really happy with how they came together.
