Vintage Sewing Pattern Ads
The first ad (a collaboration between Rit Dye & Simplicity) was found in a late 1960s Mademoiselle magazine. The following McCall's ads are from 2 different 1970s Redbook magazines. Be sure to click on the images so you can read the text from each ad - it's definitely worth it!

1960s & 1970s Vintage Home Sewing Ads
Here are some really great vintage sewing ads from the 1960s and 1970s that I found today! All of these ads are currently for sale in the eBay store Veritas104. I would love to buy a bunch of these, frame them and hang them in my sewing room. Be sure to click on each image so you can see (and read) the details!

Fun Things Found in Vintage Sewing Pattern Envelopes
Every once in a while, I will find an odd bit of ephemera stuffed into the envelope of a vintage sewing pattern that I've acquired. Usually it's a receipt from the 1960s or 1970s, or a piece of paper with sewing notes jotted onto it by the previous owner, or even a cool vintage fabric swatch. Recently, I pulled two 1960s dress shop pamphlets out of a pattern envelope. I'm guessing that both of these are from between 1966 and 1968, when cool ready to wear dresses were only $15.95!

I also found this folded up page from a 1977 J.C. Penney catalog in another pattern recently. Those are some pretty cute Sesame Street jumpsuits/rompers/dresses! Makes me nostalgic for the pre-Elmo Sesame Street days. Oh yeah - and this ad is as old as I am - haha!
